Overview

Clean air is essential to lung health. This case-based session examines common inhalational exposures and their effects on respiratory symptoms and lung function. Participants will learn the key elements of an environmental exposure history, the diagnostic workup, and evidence-based management strategies. When exposures can't be eliminated, targeted mitigation can still protect lung function—and keep patients breathing easier.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the respiratory health effects of vaping and evaluate its role in tobacco cessation
  • Recommend evidence-based strategies to reduce the health impact of poor air quality
  • Identify key history and exam findings in patients with suspected mold exposure that warrant further revaluation
