Description

Brain health is a critical component of overall patient well-being, and primary care clinicians are uniquely positioned to take early action. Gain practical skills to identify key risk factors, administer validated cognitive screening tools, and integrate brain health into chronic disease care to support earlier detection, personalized goals, and prevention across the lifespan.

The session titled "Mind Over Matter: Protecting Brain Health in Primary Care" (1 hour) is designed to satisfy state licensure requirements on Dementia-Alzheimer's in KY (MD/DO/NP/PA)

Learning Objectives

  • Identify modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors that influence brain health across the lifespan and align with individualized goals
  • Incorporate brain health plans into chronic disease management to mitigate modifiable risk factors associated with cognitive decline
  • Apply appropriate cognitive screening, including validated assessment tools, to identify early signs of mild cognitive impairment and dementia
