Overview

Food allergies are increasingly common and often first addressed in primary care. This activity equips you with evidence-based tools for allergy prevention, diagnosis, and management, including early allergen introduction, appropriate use of testing, and current treatment strategies, so you can confidently deliver safer, more effective allergy care in your practice.

Learning Objectives

  • Apply evidence-based strategies for the early introduction of allergenic foods to reduce the risk of food allergy development
  • Examine the appropriate use and limitations of diagnostic tools such as skin prick testing (SPT), serum-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE), and oral food challenges (OFCs)
  • Analyze the most recent expert consensus documents and clinical evidence for the safety and efficacy of conventional and novel therapies to manage food allergies
